iPhone 8 Plus review

It's no iPhone X, but the 8 Plus is a safe - if pricey - bet

Wireless charging is useful ; Glass back feels premium ; Dual camera is powerful

Dated design ; No mobile HDR ; Battery life average

A solid iPhone, but a clear evolution from previous Plus models. Compared to the iPhone X it's unexciting, but it offers the far better experience over the iPhone 8.

Apple iPhone 8 Plus Smartphone Review

Big sibling, small improvement. As with its smaller sibling, the Apple iPhone 8 Plus does not have many new features. We get a slightly revised chassis, now with a glass rear panel, as well as the new A11 chip. However, small optimizations improve the...

True-Tone display ; fast SoC ; great camera ; accurate GPS ; Bluetooth 5.0 ; high Wi-Fi performance ; many LTE bands ; water and dust protection ; high build quality ...

... but big and heavy ; storage cannot be expanded ; only 12 months warranty ; no stereo jack ; only average speakers ; display resolution could be higher ; heavier than the predecessor ; very limited NFC functionality

The iPhone 8 Plus offers slightly more than its smaller sibling. We are not only talking about the pure weight, which is substantial at more than 200 grams (~7 oz), but mainly the dual-camera. The display also features more pixels and you get 1 GB more...

iPhone 8 Plus review

Is the iPhone 8 Plus a step ahead, or is Cupertino killing time until the iPhone X? Find out what we think in our iPhone 8 Plus review.

The iPhone 8 Plus is a hard phone to recommend. Sure, it's powerful, but so is every other flagship - and with a dated design and huge body, the 8 Plus is lagging behind. Throw in the fact that the wireless charging is slow, the fast wired charging...

iPhone 8 Plus review

The iPhone 8 Plus' updates don't warrant a full number bump, but they're welcome improvements that make it another great iPhone.

Stellar performance ; Great camera, fun Portrait Mode features ; Wireless charging works well ; Great display ; Daylong battery

Expensive ; Boring, dated front design ; No headphone jack

The iPhone 8 Plus should really be called the iPhone 7S Plus. Its updates don’t warrant a full number bump, but they’re welcome improvements that make the 8 Plus another great iPhone.

Apple iPhone 8 Plus review

A few small upgrades have made a big difference...

Great screen ; Superb dual-lens cameras ; Solid performance ; Good build quality ; Strong battery life

Large, dated design ; No headphone jack

Small upgrades can make a big difference, and Apple’s largest phone now leads the pack

iPhone 8 Plus

An iPhone 7S Plus in all but name. iPhone 8 Plus.

Excellent, versatile camera ; Great screen ; Super speakers ; Wireless charging is nice to have

Very heavy ; Boring design ; No OIS on secondary camera ; Would have liked the screen to be OLED

Apple was very coy about battery life when it announced both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, probably because both of these handsets actually include smaller cells than last year’s models. That’s worrying for the iPhone 8, but I was impressed by the...

Apple iPhone 8 Plus

The iPhone 8 Plus may promise better augmented reality experiences than its smaller counterpart thanks to its dual cameras, making it the one you should buy.

Super-fast processor. Dual cameras. Wireless charging.

Not the fastest LTE connections. Still a relatively low-res screen with a big bezel for the price.

The iPhone 8 Plus is ready for the future, which makes it our favorite iPhone so far—but then again, we haven't tested the iPhone X yet.

Apple iPhone 8 Plus review: Faster, better, but essentially more of the same

More of the same from Apple – just a little better in most departments and a little more expensive, too

Great cameras ; Wireless charging ; Incredibly fast

Same old iPhone design ; Expensive ; Exceedingly heavy

The iPhone 8 Plus is one of the best phones Apple has ever produced, and for Apple diehards, it offers the most bang per buck of the new range. But if you’re going to spend big on an Apple smartphone, wouldn’t you rather wait for the iPhone X?

Apple iPhone 8 Plus review

Small upgrades go a long way, as the iPhone 8 Plus steps forward as the leader of the 8 family

Bright, sharp screen ; Class-leading cameras ; Lightning fast performance ; Top build quality ; Solid battery life

Bulky, dated design ; Expensive ; Lack of headphone jack still annoying

With its superb camera, larger screen and better battery life, the 8 Plus is the iPhone to buy right now

Apple iPhone 8 Plus review

Apple's fanciest iPhone isn't here yet. But the innards of that fancy iPhone X ( £999.00 at Apple ) already exist -- mostly, anyway -- inside a phone you can get right now: the iPhone 8 Plus.

Fantastic dual-lens camera shoots better than ever with improved portrait mode. Adds wireless charging. Lightning-fast speed. Starts at 64GB.

Dated design. Most competing Android phones have even larger screens. Upcoming iPhone X could be a more compelling choice.

The iPhone 8 Plus is a superlative phone with a spectacular camera, but wait for the upcoming iPhone X before buying: it promises to fold all of the key features of the 8 Plus into a smaller, sexier package.
