DJI Mavic Pro

DJI Mavic Pro review: DJI's super-compact, foldable drone packs in plenty of intelligent features

Brilliantly portable ; Nice 4K footage and 12MP photos ; Decent flight time ; Numerous smart flight features

Images suffer a little in low light

A small drone with serious power, safety features and agility.

DJI Mavic Pro Platinum

The DJI Mavic Pro Platinum is the best small drone you can buy, but some pilots may be turned off by DJI's no-fly zone enforcement and frequent firmware updates.

Compact, folding design. Small remote control. Forward obstacle avoidance. Automated flight options. Crisp 4K video. 12MP Raw and JPG stills. Up to 28 minutes of flight per charge.

Pricey. Frequent firmware updates. Requires a smartphone for full experience.

The DJI Mavic Pro Platinum is the best small drone on the market. Its folding design makes it a go-anywhere option, easily when stowed into a gear bag. It's a bit quieter and flies longer than the original Mavic Pro, but also costs more. Don't rule out...

DJI Mavic Pro: A powerful flying camera anyone can take anywhere

The foldable, travel-friendly Mavic is as unobtrusive as a toy drone, but with the performance, features and image quality of a larger prosumer quad.

The DJI Mavic Pro's compact foldable design makes it more travel friendly than any other camera drone with similar capabilities. Its gaming-style controller is equally compact, but still has all the controls you need to fly and control the camera and...

The phone mount is a little awkward to use. Not user repairable. Camera lens is a little narrow for landscapes.

If you've been looking for a discreet, but powerful travel-friendly camera drone, look no further than the DJI Mavic Pro.

DJI Mavic Pro Review: a new dimension

I went for a long hike recently, up a steep mountain trail, excited to enjoy some crisp autumn air and beautiful fall foliage. In one pocket I had my smartphone. In another, I had a drone, the new...

Incredibly small, light, and easy to carry ; Captures great photos and video ; Has all the range, battery life, and advanced features of larger drones

Compact legs make takeoff and landing more difficult ; Smaller motors mean it can struggle against strong winds

All the power of a DJI Phantom in a more portable package

DJI Mavic Pro review: One insanely powerful, portable drone

DJI made a big statement launching the Mavic Pro drone. It's hard to think of a better drone out there at the same price point as the Mavic Pro. It's nearest competitor, in terms of price, is the GoPro Karma which costs pretty much the same amount if...

Super portable design, lots of smart technology, decent battery life and camera quality

Return to home feature and gestures didn't work reliably in testing

It's hard to think of a better drone out there at the same price point as the Mavic Pro. It's nearest competitor, in terms of price, is the GoPro Karma which costs pretty much the same amount if you want the camera included.

DJI Mavic Pro review

Small on size, big on brains

Follow mode ; Gesture controls ; App-only accessibility

Unremovable camera and gimbal

DJI's most portable drone yet packs in all the advanced features we'd expect, plus a few new ones to make quadcopters more accessible than ever before.

DJI Mavic Pro review: GoPro Karma recall leaves DJI rival out on its own

An unbelievably good flying experience from a folding drone, and at a reasonable price, too

The one downside to the DJI Mavic Pro is that, unlike the currently unavailable GoPro Karma, you’re not getting a professional-level action camera into the bargain. But the image quality is good enough, and the rest of the package is so convincingly...
