FIFA Soccer 08 (Xbox 360)

It's the best soccer game on the market right now.

Improved ball control. In-depth online play.

Announcers can become repetitive if you play a whole season.

FIFA Soccer 08

Sports games have long been dominated by the monster that is EA. At the turn of the century, EA sports games were a given to most gamers as the sports game of choice. However, we've since seen a shift in the paradigm away from total domination to a...

Overall, FIFA 08 is a wonderful soccer game that improves on its predecessor in almost every way. It looks great, plays great, and is back on the right track for taking the crown back from the Winning Eleven series. This is an easy recommend for any...

FIFA 08 Xbox 360 Review

Another year means another FIFA, and we have to struggle to once again come up with yet another fresh opening paragraph for this review, and one that avoids mentioning the age old debate of Pro Evo vs. FIFA (well apart from this once) and overused...

Still no handballs though..

FIFA Soccer 08 (Xbox 360)

The love/hate relationship inspired by EA Sports' FIFA series continues with the 08 edition. This is perhaps the most hit-or-miss series in the EA stable, which sees a new version ship nearly every six months; thankfully this one hits most of the right...

FIFA 08

While I'm not a soccer player in any sense of the word, I tend to end up playing the FIFA series of games year in and year out for one reason or another. And while there are stumbles from time to time, such as the shoddy Road to the World Cup release a...

It’s hard to justify a new version of some games year after year, and when you have a game which included over 15,000 players it’s hard to imagine getting bored with a prior version. Need more of a challenge, just pick a weaker team and enter a tough...

FIFA 08

Is it just another FIFA clone or brilliant in its own right? Well I'll cut to the chase. FIFA 08 is better than FIFA 07. Score 1 for brilliant.

Sensational gameplay that eschews the clunkiness from FIFA 07 and is now playable. Graphics, sound, commentary and presentation are exactly what you'd expect from a FIFA game: brilliant. Plenty of new game modes. Australia gets a nod with the...

New game modes are pointless and annoying, feels too much like a clone of every other FIFA that has come before. Manager mode was brilliant in FIFA 06 and that game was just as fun

The reality is that FIFA 08 really is just another FIFA clone. You might want to pick this up if the addition of the A-League is appealing or if FIFA 07 really pissed you off. Oh yes, FIFA 08 is brilliant, there's no denying that but so was FIFA 06.

FIFA 08 - Xbox 360 review at Thunderbolt Games

Football games are a classic case of catch-22. Every season FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer come out and we have faith that this year, they really will be different. Of course they never are, but we have to buy one of them and this commercial success...

FIFA 08

I have to admit, I am at a bit of a disadvantage when it comes to soccer. I've watched the matches on television, talked to people who are fans of the sport and have even played my fair share of soccer video games. This casual association with soccer...

If you like sports games and want to go outside the box from the standard fare offered, FIFA 08 is a good choice. Its depth may scare off some gamers while appealing to the hardcore soccer fan.

There's nothing like a good footy title to beckon in the onset of winter, is there? As I sit here tapping away at my keyboard and occasionally glancing across to our monitor whereupon Ronaldinho is performing all sorts of mad tricks as part of the FIFA...
