Kirby’s Epic Yarn

Kirby's long-held penchant for assimilating the abilities of his enemies reached a pinnacle in Super Smash Bros Brawl. Here the pink ball from Dream Land was a neat metaphor of Nintendo's unparalleled knack for recycling their intellectual properties,...

In designing everything around the delightful textiles of Patch Land, co-developers HAL and Good-Feel have ensured that Kirby’s latest and greatest transcends any concerns of style being prioritised over substance – the substance of Epic Yarn is in the...

Kirbys Epic Yarn

Cav, who isn't cut from the same CLOTH as our other reviewers, takes a look at Kirby's Epic Yarn, to see what UNRAVELS in the pink hero's latest adventure. He tries to PIN point the best bits of the game for you in his review. Look, there are bound to...

Two player is a huge bonus - Large variety of game play styles - Good story behind the game

Objectives not always obvious - may be a little easy for some

Once again a normal single player game has appeared as a co-op. This is a grand idea and I would love to see more of it. Overall Kirby's Epic Yarn is a great game and other developers should take a look at what these guys have done and build on that....

Kirby's Epic Yarn

If you were trying to get someone into gaming, which game would best serve as an induction? Maybe you'd start at the top with a classic like Pong to help colour in gaming's history. You could go with a more formative oldie like Super Mario Bros or...

The game is a little short at around six hours to get to the end, although there are plenty of goodies and gems to go back hunting for and use to unlock further distractions. A good story, especially a first story, should not be too long anyway....

Kirby's Epic Yarn Review

So just how long is a piece of string?

Kirby's Epic Yarn is a faithful and traditional Nintendo 2D platform game with a modern twist. It's a fantastic concept, contains heaps of imagination, and these ideas are implemented to great effect via the innovative game mechanics. It's very hard to...

Kirby's Epic Yarn

Good Feel is famous in some circles for its lead man being the chap behind the fantastic Legend of the Mystical Ninja adventures on the 16-bit Super Nintendo from Konami back in the 1990s. The company rose to fame when Nintendo offered the team the...

Kirby’s Epic Yarn starts off slow and may even lead to fans of traditional Kirby adventures giving it the cold shoulder. However, the sheer amount of thought, creativity and extra little touches poured into the adventure help to make this one journey...

Kirby’s Epic Yarn

The delightful return of our pink friend. Nintendo has always made a name for themselves from mascot franchises. Donkey Kong, Mario, Yoshi, everyone who knows Nintendo knows these characters just...

Unique and creative art style ; Beautiful music ; Addicting platforming

A little on the easy side ; Need more games with Kirby in them

Nintendo has always made a name for themselves from mascot franchises. Donkey Kong, Mario, Yoshi, everyone who knows Nintendo knows these characters just by their name, if not definitely by their pictures. However, I feel that there is always one that...

Games review - Kirby's Epic Yarn is a stitch up

This 2D epic has already been out in America for months, so what is Nintendo of Europe keeping from us and is it really worth caring about a new Kirby game?

Gorgeous graphics and consistently inventive set pieces that use the whole 'Patch World' motif perfectly. Co-op mode is a lot of fun

Like all Kirby games it's trivially easy, so with no real incentive to replay (beyond the sheer joy of experiencing it all again) the longevity is worryingly short

Probably the best Kirby game ever and one of the most visually arresting video games of the year (if it had actually been released in Europe that is).

Import Review: Is it time to Kirb your enthusiasm?

Beautifully crafted but a bit too cuddly. One for platform newbies only.

Kirby's Epic Yarn

Playing through Kirby's Epic Yarn won't take you long. Most long-time gamers can probably clear it in five or six hours. There's plenty more to experience even after the credits roll, though, in the form of unlockable furnishings for Kirby's house,...
