LG OLED55C7V (C7 OLED) review: The best Black Friday TV deal yet?

LG's OLED55C7V is vanishingly different to its B7V stablemate, but the picture performance is just as perfect

Stunning contrast ; True blacks ; Amazing gaming experience ; Class-leading HDR format support

Interlace artefacts on 50Hz video ; No Dolby Atmos sound from 4K Blu-rays

Ultimately there’s very, very little difference between LG’s OLED55C7V and the OLED55B7V, but if we had to choose, we’d go for the C7. Why? Simple. Because in addition to the stupendous image quality, superb sound and cracking gaming performance, the...

LG OLED55C7V review

The C7 is equally as appealing as its more widely available B7 sibling

Awesome OLED picture quality, with added brightness ; Natural picture ; Supports all HDR formats ; Neat, unfussy design ; Great for gaming

The Sony A1 is a punchier performer

There’s no reason to buy the C7 over the B7, there’s no reason not to – but do also consider the Sony KD-55A1

LG OLED55C7V review

The most affordable of LG's 2017 OLEDs doesn't disappoint

The same, awesome picture as the rest of the range but a bit cheaper ; Simple, minimalist design ; Sound is actually better than expected

You’ll still want a separate sound system ; The Sony A1 provides an even better picture

The most affordable 2017 LG OLED is the pick of the bunch for most people - but also consider the Sony A1

LG OLED55C7V

The LG C7 most affordable OLED model from LG's 2017 range, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's any less good than its more expensive siblings.

The LG OLED55C7V delivers some of the best picture quality you'll see all year.

  (Rating Hidden)

You'll pay a pretty penny for the OLED55C7V, but LG promise the best of the best when it comes to TV picture quality. But it will need to impress our lab experts in all facets - including sound, ease of use and power consumption - to earn a Best Buy....

The stand would be better if it was black

LG OLED55C7V

The picture quality and the various modes it can display such as Dolby Vision, HDR. Another strong contender on the good points is the remote control and user interface, which are both snappy and easy to navigate.

My only reserve would be that I have likely purchased the TV when the screen technology presents a premium cost to the consumer, no doubt this will decrease quite rapidly in the near future?

LG OLED55C7V

Good image quality. Can't go wrong with OLED. You have to agree to share a lot of personal information to make use of some of the functionality (e.g. voice commands). Not fully comfortable doing that. Supports new features such as Dolby Vision.

Does not have a Spotify app installed. Also does not switch automatically to chromecast when you start streaming. Menu system and apps are not as good as with Samsung.
