Sony MDR-XB50BS review

Sony's new MDR-XB50BS Extra Bass Sports Wireless in-ear headphone is worth considering for a few reasons: Not only is it relatively inexpensive at around $60 online (£60 or AU$130), but just as importantly it fits well and sounds good, particularly if...

The Sony MDR-XB50BS is affordably priced, sweat-resistant, sounds decent and fits well (it's easy to get a tight seal). Battery life is good at 8.5 hours and the headphone has strong bass performance.

Not the greatest-looking wireless sports headphone; performed only OK as a headset; no protective case.

It's got some small downsides, but the reasonably priced Sony MDR-XB50BS is a step up in sound from a lot of inexpensive wireless sports headphones.

Sony MDR-XB50BS review

  (Rating Hidden)

Sony wants these headphones to be your go-to pair if you're heading to the gym. The Bluetooth connection means no dragging cables, but will the chunky ear pieces stay put on your morning run and is the sound up to scratch? We put them to the test to...

Sony MDR-XB50BS

GGreat sound. Great look. But quiet mic.

The bass is great! They fit me so well and I usually have trouble with in ear headphones. This is great design. The look is fantastic. I love how it's just the ear pieces and no bulky neck piece. The microphone doesn't seem to hear me well when I talk...

The look. The sound. The bass. The price.

Always sticking by me

I bought this about two weeks ago and I love it. It has a very long battery life, the sound is just awesome (especially the bass), and I love the fact that it can't fall out of my ears.
