Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo)

The level design is superb and the new gameplay mechanics reinvigorate the Mario franchise ; wonderful visual style really takes full advantage of the Wii's capabilities ; definitely lives up to the high standard of previous Mario games ; best title in...

It may take some players a while to adjust to the game's unique gameplay ; the camera moves in strange ways during the space levels, so we hope you're not prone to motion-sickness! The multiplayer mode is weak and feels tacked on

This is the first game in a long time that we've actually gone back and replayed levels just for fun. It's everything you loved about Mario 64 and nothing you hated about Super Mario Sunshine.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 review

Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the Wii builds on the brilliantly innovative work of its predecessor, honing Super Mario Galaxy's thought-provoking platform game style and taking it still further.

If Super Mario Galaxy was the Sex Pistols - thrilling, revolutionary, capable of making everything else look instantly out of date - then Galaxy 2 is Blondie: a touch derivative, but sharper, better-looking and more fun. Galaxy had the ideas; Galaxy 2...

Nintendo finally brings us a worthy successor to Super Mario 64

Nintendo rewrites the platform rulebook to create a worthy successor to Super Mario 64. On every level, it's worlds ahead of (nearly all) the competition.

Super Mario Galaxy Review - Wii

super mario galaxy review: The stellar presentation and fantastic level designs combine to make Super Mario Galaxy the Wii's game to beat and one of Mario's greatest adventures yet.

Some of the best level designs of any 3D platformer, Beautiful, colourful graphics, Controls work just about flawlessly in nearly every situation, Soundtrack is a delight, Lots of stages and tons of stars to find and collect.

A couple of Mario's special suits can be frustrating to use, Minimal amount of story doesn't tie everything together especially well.

The stellar presentation and fantastic level designs combine to make Super Mario Galaxy the Wii's game to beat and one of Mario's greatest adventures yet.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Three years ago, Mario hit the Wii with a remarkable 3D entry that brought a ton of innovation to the series through its spherical level designs that fit the galaxy moniker well. It also introduced new items like star bits that acted as both currency...

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a tremendous game and definitely the best one on the Wii. It's one of the best Mario games of all time, and my favorite 3D entry in the series to date. The gameplay, controls, graphics, and music are all incredible and its...

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Review

If it feels like I've been incredibly critical of this game, you're right. The first game was just brilliant, and likewise so is SMG2. It just seems that instead of toughening things up and broadening the SMG universe, we have been presented with a...

New power-ups ; Yoshi and Luigi; More variation in level design, enemies and gameplay; Still the best 3D platformer around

No 'real' gaming hub; Similar to first game; Disappointing ending; Progression of difficulty poorly executed

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Review

These little stars of mine, I'm gonna let them shine.

Platforming formula is still gold; Excellent Wii visuals; Entrancing soundtrack; A whole lotta stars to collect; Yoshi

Doesn't do anything new; Bland bosses

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Review - Frictionless Insight

is surprisingly fun and endearing

Princess Peach has been kidnapped by Bowser, the giant turtle-monster busy trying to conquer the galaxy. So what makes this game different from every other Mario game? Well... most of the levels are set on tiny planetoids, each with their own...
